Industrial specialization of the region
Yaroslavl region has all the prerequisites for further strengthening its position as a region of innovation. Work will continue on creating an infrastructure to support new innovative ideas in the field of digital and unmanned technologies, artificial intelligence, breakthrough projects in medicine and pharmaceuticals.
Currently, Yaroslavl region is ranked 25th in the ASI National Investment Climate Rating.
On the territory of the region, large-scale investment projects in industry of national importance are being implemented. The plans include the investment development of TOSED (the territory of advanced social and economic development) in single-industry towns, the innovative development of entrepreneurship, the expansion of the practice of using federal support tools and the implementation of many other tasks.
Leading industries
Machine-building, machine-tool industry, food equipment: the production of automotive components, including engines, aircraft engines, gas turbines, road machinery, electrical equipment, has been developed.
Chemical industry, production of items and chemical raw materials: the presence of a large refinery, large gas and oil pipelines, the production of tires, paints creates a demand for raw materials.
Pharmaceuticals, innovative medicine and medical devices: the only full-cycle pharmaceutical cluster in the Russian Federation (including a training system for the industry, production of drugs and pharmaceutical substances, development of production technologies, clinical and preclinical trials of drugs). The Center for the Transfer of Pharmaceutical Technologies operates.
Shipbuilding: there are 6 shipbuilding enterprises producing a wide range of civil and military ships, there are prerequisites for the development of the shipbuilding cluster, the strongest in Russia. Expansion of production lines of shipbuilding companies in the region, production of new products, including export-oriented ones.
Agriculture and biotechnology
Over 400 thousand hectares of unused land. Scientific base in the field of breeding, 5 secondary educational institutions and 1 university, good ecology, developed production of organic products.
Tourist and recreational sector
About 3.6 million tourists, 3 cities of the "Golden Ring" (out of 8), developed tourist infrastructure and service, a large number of water bodies.
Electronics, IT and business services
The demand for IT infrastructure from industry, the availability of qualified personnel.
Transport and logistics sector
The growth of the transit flow between the countries of the Caspian region and Europe, as well as the regions of the Russian Federation, the expansion of the use of water transport. Active development of Yaroslavl Airport, increase in passenger and cargo flow. Opening of new directions of cargo transportation.
