Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan
A favorable factor in the development of scientific schools in Kazan has always been interaction and cooperation with institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as with universities in the country. Taking into account the objective needs of Tatarstan in its own academic scientific base and for solving the most urgent scientific problems for the republic, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan was created in 1992.
Chemical, mathematical, oriental, linguistic schools, as well as archaeological, historical and ethnographic, medical, neuropathological, psychiatric, geological, geobotanical, natural sciences, law schools and scientific societies gained worldwide fame. In Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, such outstanding scientific discoveries were made as the creation of non-Euclidean geometry (N.I. Lobachevsky), the discovery of the natural and chemical element of ruthenium (K.K. Klaus), the creation of a theory of the structure of organic compounds (A. M. Butlerov), discovery of electron paramagnetic resonance (E.K. Zavoisky), discovery of acoustic paramagnetic resonance (S. A. Altshuler).
