Geography and Nature
Primorye occupies the most extreme part of southeast Russia. The maximum length of the region is about 900 km, its greatest width is 280 km. The total length of the borders is 3,000 km, of which the sea border is about 1,500 km.

The region borders on the Khabarovsk Territory, China and North Korea by land, and in the east and south it is washed by the Sea of Japan. It is part of the Far Eastern Federal District. On the territory of Primorye there are more than 6,000 rivers and lots of lakes, the largest of them - Khanka - is the largest freshwater lake in the Far East. The central and eastern parts of the region are occupied by the Sikhote-Alin mountains, in the west are the Ussuri and Prikhankaysky lowlands. The highest peak is Mount Anik, 1,993 m high, located in the northeast near the border with the Khabarovsk Territory. Some areas of Primorye are equated with areas of the Far North.
Administrative division: the regional center of the region is the city of Vladivostok. It is located on the peninsula, stretched along the Amur Bay, coastlines serve as its natural borders. Vladivostok is located at the same latitude as the Crimea, but the weather here does not always resemble a resort. Walking in Vladivostok, located on the hills, is better in good weather.

The population of Primorsky Krai is 1,928,962 inhabitants, which does not exceed one and a half percent of the total Russian population. Vladivostok with a population of 604,901 thousand people is the largest city in Primorye. It is followed by Ussuriysk, with 172,017 thousand inhabitants and Nakhodka with 149,316 thousand citizens.
As in other regions of the Far East, the population in Primorye is extremely unevenly distributed: densely populated areas alternate with poorly inhabited territories.
With an average population density of 12 people per 1 sq. km there are many places where there are only 1-2 people per 1 sq. km. A third of the territory of the region, mainly in the highlands, has no permanent population at all.
The national composition of the inhabitants of Primorye is very diverse. Along with with indigenous peoples belonging to the Tungus-Manchu and Paleo-Asian families (Udege, Nanai, Orochi, Basins), there are numerous ethnic groups belonging to the most diverse races and linguistic families. The ethnic composition of Primorye: Russians, Ukrainians, Tatars, Uzbeks, Koreans, Belarusians, Chinese, Germans, Mordovians, Armenians and other nationalities. Bridges of Vladivostok
The bridges erected in Vladivostok in preparation for the APEC 2012 international summit - Golden and Russian - transformed the look of the city. Tiger
One of the rarest representatives of the world fauna, the Amur tiger, lives on the territory of Primorye. Today it is in Sikhote Alin that its only viable population has survived.
Trepang
Trepang, unique in its medicinal properties of marine invertebrates, has been tried, perhaps, by every resident of Primorye. Mainly, not in a restaurant, but in wild nature, caught and cooked personally. This echinoderm animal is jokingly called a sea cucumber for some external similarity by the locals. Interestingly, during cooking trepangs descease in size five times.
Ginseng
Russian Primorye is the only place on the planet where wild-growing ginseng is still represented in an amount sufficient to preserve it as a species. Asian wisemen claimed that only the most noble people can find ginseng. By the way, in the village of Starovarovka the first Russian ginseng museum is operating.
Lighthouses
These are the navigation points of the city, which are a key and iconic moment for all traveling ships. The lights of some lighthouses in Vladivostok have served sailors for more than a hundred and fifty years.
