Ecological tourism
A large number of natural sites are located on the territory of the region, as well as a few wildlife sanctuaries and the Caucasian State Natural Biosphere Reserve that enable the development of ecological tourism here. Krasnodar
Dog Capital Sculpture
In his sculpture, Valery Pchelin captured two dogs who met for their first date at the building with clocks, at the junction of Mira Street and Krasnaya Street.
Sculptural Composition Reply of Zaporozhian Cossacks to Sultan Mehmed IV of the Ottoman Empire
In the framework of celebrations dedicated to the 215th anniversary of the Kuban capital a monument based on I. Repin’s painting Reply of Zaporozhian Cossacks to Sultan Mehmed IV of the Ottoman Empire was opened. In 1888, Ilya Repin came to Yekaterinodar to make a few sketches of Kuban Cossacks for the painting he had in mind. He visited the Pashkovskaya stanitsa and made more than several dozens of drafts there.
Krasnodar Football Club Stadium
The Stadium was opened in 2016. The capacity of the ultramodern football arena is 35,179 seats; 3,273 of them are VIP seats and boxes. Technical frills, such as a roof of a special cable construction that covers all the spectator seats, an infrared system for grandstands, a huge media screen of 4,700 m2, allow holding tournaments of any scale, including those under the aegis of UEFA and FIFA, and attract a lot of fans to the Kuban capital.
Alexander's Triumphal Arch (Tsar's Gates)
The Alexander's Triumphal Arch also known as the Tsar's Gates was erected in 1888 to commemorate the visit of Alexander III and his family to the city. Construction was funded by the merchant community of Yekaterinodar. An elegant arch was constructed in the Russian National Style. Initially, it was placed at the junction of Mira Street and Sedina Street. Since 1900 a tramline has been running under the arch. The Tsar's Gates had been a landmark of Yekaterinodar for thirty years until the arch was destroyed in 1928. In 2008 the Tsar's Gates restored by photos and drafts changed their historical place for the junction of Krasnaya Street and Babushkina Street.
Musical Fountain on the Teatralnaya Square
Construction of the fountain started in May 2010. It took 20,000 sq.m of tiles to improve the territory. The foundation where water sprays play is paved with dark granite that was delivered from Italy. The fountain was launched for the first time during celebrations of the Krasnodar City Day in 2011. Thousands of excited spectators were watching water sprays breaking free of the underground to reach the height of 25 meters. Bright underwater spotlights illuminate them in tune with music creating more than 400 colour effects. 377 sprays are involved in this composition of water, light and music which is controlled by complicated cutting-edge equipment. The Teatralnaya Square is planned to become the major place for football fans to meet during the FIFA World Cup 2018.
Saint George Cathedral
On June 18, 1895, the Saint George Cathedral named after Great Martyr St. George the Victorious was erected in Yekaterinodar, on the place of the former metochion of the Balaclava St. George's Monastery of the Taurian Diocese. One of the conditions of its construction was to build a school. History has not preserved the name of the architect or the name of the project – It’s only known that works were conducted with participation of Malgerb, a famous creator of the Saint Catherine's Cathedral named after the Great Martyress in the centre of Yekaterinodar.
The Bridge of Kisses
The Bridge of Kisses is a delicate bridge across the backwater to connect the embankment of the Kuban River with the 30 Anniversary of the Victory Park. The pedestrian bridge has been built in a new millenium already to become a favourite place for walks of newlyweds. Couples in love hang barn locks with their names written on them on bridge railings. Keys are thrown to the river to symbolize strong relationships as per tradition.
Monument to Empress Catherine II
There’s the form of Catherine the Great standing in the centre of the pedestal. The Empress is accompanied by Prince Potemkin and three Cossacks. The sculptural monument is a perfect copy of the monument by M.O. Mikeshin that was destroyed in 1920s. The plot is based on the historical meeting of the Cossacks with Catherine II that resulted into granting of Kuban lands to the Cossack Army to use in perpetuity.
Sochi
Dolmen Monolith in Volkonka
A unique dolmen monolith located near the Lazarevskoye-Sochi Highway, 2 km from the Soloniki settlement. There is a thermal spring and a picturesque Two Brothers Mountain in the vicinity.
Olympic Park
It’s a modern sports complex uniting 6 arenas where sports competition, opening and closing ceremonies of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games and the 11th Winter Paralympic Games 2014 in Sochi took place. Every evening there’s a show of the musical fountain. Its sprays reach the height of up to 60 m. Nowadays one can take a golf car or an excursion train here, ski, ride bicycles or segways, or visit the Sochi Autodrom.
Sochi Park
Sochi Park is the first theme park in the country. There are 13 leisure-time entertainments of the European scale here. Make a Quantum Leap on the fastest and the highest extreme rollercoaster in Russia (1,056 m long, speed of 100 km/h) and enjoy the most exciting free fall in Russia with The Firebird. The height of the fall is 65 meters! Guests of the park will also see entertaining show programs, theatrical performances, laser shows, the French Water Theatre and a dolphinarium.
Vorontsovskaya Cave System
It’s one of the largest underground labyrinths in the world with a length of more than 11 km. Once cave people used to live here. Tourists are taken to six huge halls with illumination. It’s a special microclimate with a temperature of 6–11°С here. The 6 meters tall Rainbow Stalactite and the Patriarch Stalagmite are more than 1 mln years old to impress with their history. The excursion lasts 45 minutes, the route length is 600 m.
Yew and Boxwood Grove
A famous grove is a forest of the preglacier period (18–30 mln years ago). A relict grove takes the area of about 300 ha. Ruins of the ancient fortress of the 11th-12th century can be found in the depth of the forest, and there is the Western Caucasus Flora and Fauna Museum next to the entrance to the grove. The length of routes is 2 or 5 km.
Skypark
The first Russian adventure park at a great height. It includes the world’s longest suspension footbridges. It’s 439 m long and 207 m high. There are two of the highest bungy in the world – BUNGY 207 m и BUNGY 69 m, as well as SochiSwing of 170 m, the highest swing in the world, and MegaTroll of 700 m to pick up speed up to 150 km/h.
I.V. Stalin's Summer Residence
A functioning Stalin’s fireplace is located in the great hall. Floors and ceilings are made of luxurious wood. There is a waxwork of the leader guests like posing with for pictures.
Agur Gorge
3 km from the Sputnik Spa Hotel and Resort, Khostinsky District. The Devil’s Bathtub and the Devil's Hole Cave can be seen on the way. Then the lower and the most beautiful 30 m high waterfall can be seen. Its sprays fall to the lake where anyone who feels like it can swim on a hot day. Then the path leads to the upper waterfall which is 23 meters high. That’s the place to ascend the Eagle Rocks or the Akhun Mountain from. The path to waterfalls is 2.5 km.
Akhun Mountain
The height of the mountain is 663 m above sea level. About 20 caves are located in the depths of the mountain. By I.V. Stalin’s Order, in 1936 a 30-meter-high watchtower was built on the top of the mountain from natural stones. In fine weather the tower outlooks the panorama of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range mountain peaks, and on the other side, the Adler Cape and the centre of Sochi can be seen perfectly. There’s the only Ferris wheel in Russia which is placed on the height of 670 m above sea level.
Tea Houses
It’s where an amazing view of snowy peaks of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range and the coast of the Black Sea is given in fine weather. You’ll learn the story of the northernmost sort of tea in the world – the Krasnodar tea, feel its astringent flavour and unique aroma. Girls dressed in bright folk costumes will serve tea with fig and pineapple guava jam, and pies.
33 Waterfalls
11 km from the Golovinka settlement. The water cascade comprises 33 waterfalls, 7 rapids and 13 cataracts. The highest waterfall is the lowest one – 12 m. There are picturesque groves of boxwood and other relict plants around. Also, the upstream waters of the spring are home to trouts you’ll be offered to try in the local cafe. Here you can also visit a honey farm and a cafe with Caucasian food.
Berendeevo Tsarstvo (Berendey’s Kingdom)
Go down to the Mamedka River, cross the suspension bridge to see a whole cascade of waterfalls. The reference point is the turn of the road to the Mamed's Gorge 2 km from Lazarevskoye.
Arboretum
More than 1,700 species of plants from various corners of the Earth are gathered together on a huge territory. A ropeway will take you to the highest point of the Arboretum. Peacocks walk freely across the territory of the Arboretum, and the lower part features a pond and an aquarium with representatives of Black Sea fauna.
Gelendzhik
Olympus Park of Tourist Leisure and Entertainments
A ropeway with seats will take you to the height of 600 m to the viewing point, from which not only Gelendzhik but also Divnomorskoye and Novorossiysk can be seen. There’s the only Ferris wheel in Russia which is placed on the height of 640 m above sea level. Enjoy a zoo, an exotarrium, an exhibition of exotic fish, a children's village, leisure-time entertainments, a dolmen valley, sportfishing, jeeping and quadrunners.
Waterfalls
Multiple waterfalls that are 3 to 30 m high are located on the territory of Gelendzhik urban resort. You can enjoy the pristine beauty, coolness and clearness of waterfalls visiting the Gebius (Tesheb) Waterfalls (Arkhipo-Osipovka village), waterfalls of the Zhane River (Vozrozhdeniye village), Pshada Waterfalls (Pshada village), Plisetskiye Waterfalls (Mikhailovsky Pereval village), Kuago River Waterfalls (Pshada village).
Museum of Bread and Wine
In 2010, the Museum of Bread and Wine, a new traveller attraction, was established as part of the Mikhailovskoye Fortification. The foundation of the composition is a windmill with a unique millstone arrangement of the late 19th century. The Museum presents items of material culture that illustrate the history of husbandry, animal breeding and vine growing development of Kuban from the earliest times till the present day, and provides extensive informational materials on the current state of bread baking and vine growing in Gelendzhik.
Gelendzhik Dolphinarium
Shows with the participation of fur seals, a sea lioness and Black Sea dolphins. Spectators of the show will be guaranteed a warm welcome and a wide range of performances: vibrant dances on the water, wonderful singing, spectacular acrobatic feats, a sea of joy and fountains of excitement, a firework of splashes and unforgettable impressions.
Museum of Cosmonautics
To immerse in the atmosphere of incredible achievements of science and technology, to learn how people have been conquering amazing spaces of the Universe from the first spaceflight till the present day, visit the only Museum of Cosmonautics dedicated to manned spacecraft in the South of Russia that features more than a thousand exhibit items, including those from the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center.
Pshada Dolmens
The Pshadsky District is considered a pinnacle of megaliths construction in the Caucasus. There are a lot of dolmens near Pshada (about 70) – monuments of the neolithic age (3,000 years BC).
Golden Bay Aqua Park
The largest Russian aqua park was opened in 2004 in Gelendzhik. The Golden Bay Aqua Park encapsulated the best entertainments and popular water complexes of the world’s best aqua parks. Many of them are exclusive, just as the whole design and the style of the aqua park. The aqua park style, in general, is intended to mix epochs and countries. The aqua park is constructed so that visitors could look into every corner of the aqua park while moving across the territory without going twice through one and the same zone. The children’s zone is made in the form of a castle with four pools and bright attractive scallops and figures of marine animals.
Sail Rock
A natural monument with a height of 30 m and a length of 25 m. Its form resembles a four-cornered sail. It’s the place of clear seawater and amazing pebble beach.
The Old Park Cultural Center
Here you can see a perfect copy of the Pyramid of Egypt, the Temple of Zeus, a rotunda, a reflection basin with a bridge and a garden house. They are surrounded by exotic plants: thujas, pitas, junipers, palms, cypresses, banana trees.
Kastalskaya Font
A small lake with streaming spring water, home to trouts and sturgeons. You can fish for a while and cook your catch.
Anapa
Anapa Lighthouse
The lighthouse was constructed in 1955. It’s the octangular tower with three black horizontal stripes. The height of the central light is 43 m above sea level. The range coverage is 18.5 nautical mile.
Bora-Bora Beach Club Anapa
Bora-Bora Beach Club Anapa, an aquatic and entertainment complex, is unparalleled on the coast of the Black Sea in terms of provided services. Heated pools, a pool for surfing, a mini aqua park, a large beach, animation, restaurants, shows of superstars – all this and many other things are offered to Bora-Bora visitors. The aqua complex located in Anapa occupies a territory of 1.6 ha and meets the most demanding requirements and modern international standards of club recreation.
Sukko Lake
Unique swamp cypresses (32 trees) grow amidst this picturesque lake. Their native land is the American continent. Wood doesn’t fog off because of the abundance of resin. There is a Forest Glade (Lesnaya Polyana) Horse Base nearby where you’ll be offered to take a ride around the lake.
Dobrodeya Park
Berendeevo Tsarstvo (Berendey’s Kingdom), a magical forest with characters of Russian folk tales who come to life, bright shows and interesting contests and games, has been created in the park for children. A unique exposition Cossack Farmstead introduces the routine of Kuban Cossacks to the audience. Dishes of the Kuban cuisine are offered.
Church of Saint Onuphrius
It’s one of the oldest Kuban churches that still functions. It was built in 1837 in the honour of Saint Onuphrius, the patron of Anapa. It was the day of his commemoration, June 25, 1828, that the Turkish fortress of Anapa fell under the pressure of the Russian Army.
Russian Gates
Remains of the Turkish fortress built in 1783 are located near the Archaeological Museum. By Decree of Nikolai I all the Turkish constructions were to be destroyed. Only the Eastern Gates were left untouched to commemorate the valor of the Russian army, so the name of the Russian Gates stuck.
Arine-Berd Armenian Cultural Center
It's a cultural centre and a fortress. Here you can acquaint yourself with history and culture of one of the largest Kuban diaspora – the Armenian one. The territory comprises a historical gallery, a throne room, a market square. There are cages with peacocks and pheasants on the territory of the square.
Bolshoi Utrish State Complex (Landscape, Floristic and Marine) Reserve
The natural territorial complex of the Bolshoi Utrish Reserve is an aggregate of particularly valuable natural resources located on the 12 km long territory of the North-Caucasian coast of the Black Sea with the area of land of 2,582 ha and the area of the offshore zone of 2,530 ha.
Gorgippia Archaeological Museum
The museum includes digging of the ancient Greek town. You will see findings from excavation sites. The exposition is dedicated to Maria, a famous mother from Anapa.
Tuapsinsky District
Tengin Waterfalls
The sight of the Tengin Waterfall, its waters falling down freely and shattering on the land in a cloud of splashes with a thundering roar is truly one of the most amazing beauties of nature. The waterfall is in a picturesque area that has never been changed by humans. Even a rainbow can be seen sometimes in a cloud of splashes. There’s a small lake and a place for rest next to the waterfall. Also, tourists will be offered to pose wearing folk costumes for pictures here, to try national cuisine and to ride horses across the locality.
Kiselev Rock
A smooth 43 m high rock is located 4 km from Tuapse, between the Kadosh Cape and the mouth of the Agoi River. The rock was given its name after artist A.A. Kiselev who glorified its beauty in his artworks. There’s a wonderful wild beach with clear water nearby.
Aqua World Dolphinarium
Dolphins, white whales, sea lions and fur seals take part in the performance.
Dolmens
All kinds of megaliths – dolmens and menhirs, as well as stone and subsoil burial grounds, are of particular importance among all the sights of the Tuapsinsky District. Of all the megalithic structures in the region, it’s dolmens that provoke constant and genuine interest. According to today’s local history experts, at the moment about 400 dolmens have been preserved in Tuapse, settlements of Prigorodny, Dzhubga, Novomikhailovskoye; villages of Teginka, Anastasievka and other inhabited localities.
Novorossiysk
Abrau Lake
A mountain lake surrounded by mountains with a relict wood and vineyards. Abrau-Durso is located at the height of 84 m above sea level, its length is 2,600 m, and its depth is 10 m. The surrounding nature is a joy to see with its variety of colours from early spring to late autumn. The locals will tell a sad legend about the lake’s origin. You can also go for romantic boating.
Yu.A. Gagarin Planetarium
Owing to the Planetarium Apparatus the lecture provides a spectacular presentation about the constitution of the Universe and our Solar System. Together with the lecturer, you will ‘fly to the Moon’ to see its craters and mountains.
Mikhail Kutuzov CRUISER
A former combat ship, and currently – a branch of the Black Sea Fleet Museum. Introduction to the vessel’s history and rig.
Minor Land Memorial
The ensemble – with the Military Gallery of Fame, the Memorial Exhibition ‘Weapon and Fighting Equipment of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).
Rossiya Cultural and Tourist Complex
Unforgettable breathtaking shows, such as Roman Gladiators: the Conspiracy of Gods, Horse World, A Secret of White Unicorn, or the Kuban Cossacks extreme show. One can learn to ride a horse, try therapeutic horse riding or visit the Upside Down House.
Temryuksky District
Ataman Exhibition Complex
The ethnic and cultural complex is spread out on the outskirts of the Taman stanitsa. The area of 20 ha comprises peasant houses of a blacksmith, a shoemaker, and a winemaker, as well as a mill, a chapel, a victualling house, watchtowers and even a Cossack fire station. Here one can witness how the Cossacks who moved to Kuban more than 200 years ago used to live.
Rotten Mountain Volcano (Hephaestus)
It’s a whole chain of mud volcanos on the Rotten Mountain on the outskirts of Temryuk. The height of some volcanos reaches 3 meters. The mud cures neurological diseases, radiculitis, etc. After a dip in the mud basin or a mud lake one can get a tangible cosmetic effect. There’s a cafe, parking and a shower at the bottom of the mountain. The volcano is situated on the way out of Temryuk towards Slavyansk-on-Kuban.
Lotus Valley
These wonderful flowers first shipped from India can be seen near the Strelka settlement. Next to the oak grove, there’s Kazachy Erik, a shallow channel with motorboats on watch in summer to deliver tourists to the place where lotuses bloom in the Akhtanizovsky Liman.
Golubitskoye Mud Lake
The size of the lake is 100 х 150 m, its depth is about 1 m. The bottom of the lake is covered with a therapeutic mud containing a great amount of hydrogen sulphide, bromine and iodine. It is highly appreciated in health centres of Taman and Anapa. After dipping yourself in the lake you can then wash off the therapeutic mud in the sea.
Blue Beam Volcano
The volcano is situated 10 km from the Golubitskaya stanitsa, in the Za Rodinu settlement. Mud volcanos are a landmark of the Taman Peninsula. The Blue Beam Volcano is a small mud lake people immerse themselves to improve their health. There’s a shower, dressing rooms and a cafe on the coast of the Sea of Azov nearby.
Goryachy Klyuch
Chapel in Honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God
The chapel is at the bottom of the Abadzekh (Klyuchevaya) Mountain, not far from the right bank of the Psekups River. In the second half of the 19th century, it was attached to the stone grotto next to an Iveron healing spring. It has been available till the 1920s granting holy water to the locals and pilgrims. But then due to a shift of strata water went away. Now only a cup in the form of a sea shell reminds of the abundant spring. And a chapel.
Dante Gorge
An unusual natural landmark at the bottom of the Abadzekh Mountain. It’s an incredibly beautiful and accessible for visits place in the Healing Park on the outskirts of Goryachy Klyuch.
Rescue Rock (‘Cockerel’)
One of the most famous natural monuments of the Caucasus. The rock used to be called a Rescue Rock. It’s located on the western slope of the Abadzekh Mountain on the Psekups River, on the outskirts of Goryachy Klyuch. The height is about 28 m. The rock was created with ‘efforts’ of the Psekups River that had been cutting its southern side for million years while bending around the Abadzekh Mountain on its way. That’s how an almost sheer cliff was born.
Large Fanagori Cave
The cave is located within 12.5 km from the Fanagoriyskoye village, at the merge of the Burlachenkova River and the Cave Gap. The Fanagori Cave was known as early as in the 18th century. In the late 19th – early 20th century it was visited by pilgrims.
Bogatyrsky (Knight) Caves
Two small caves in the rock of sandstone that has been pressed over a million years. They are located in the forest, not far from the left bank of the Psekups River, in the area of the Enchantment Valley, to the right of the road leading to the Fanagoriskoye village. Age and purpose of these caves are unknown.
Kaverzinsky Waterfalls
Waterfalls are on the Tambov Gap Stream (right feeder of the Kaverze River) near the Khrebtovoye village, within 5 km from the Don Motorway. The height of the main waterfall is 12 m. There are 3–4 waterfalls on the way (2–6 meter high). The Large Kaverzinsky Waterfall is rightfully considered a record breaker by not only beauty but height and water content as well. One of the most famous and most visited areas is the Kaverzinsky waterfalls (weekend trips). The convenience of approaches and a picturesque valley attract tourists and vacationers.
Ayuk Waterfalls
A two-level 9-meter high waterfall on the Burlachenkova Gap Stream (left feeder of the Chepsa River) within 10 km from the Fanagoriskoye village. A special feature of the waterfall is a 10 meter basin formed by the water flow at the bottom of the fall in soft rocky sandstone. It’s a good place for exotic swimming in a forest with accompaniment of falling water. Another peculiarity is an unusual white colour of water flows because of numerous air bubbles formed by waterfall sprays.
Yeysky District
Dolgaya Spit
Yeysky District, Dolzhanskaya Stanitsa. A wonderful wildlife sanctuary with unique sand and shell beaches. It’s a 8 km long geomorphic monument. It’s a perfect place for surfing.
Khanskoe Lake
Located within 55 km from Yeysk on the territory of the Yasensky Reserve. This natural landmark is famous for its therapeutic mud. The length of the lake is 16 km, the width is 7 km, and the depth is no more than a meter. The biggest rookeries of Dalmatian pelicans, flamingos and cormorants can be seen here.
Island of the Seven Winds
It is located on the Yeyskaya Spit. Here you can walk into the depth of the island to have a look at flora and fauna, see the local lake and, of course, try sulfured therapeutic muds yourself. This place has been long selected by fans of sailing, surfing and yachting.
Primorsko-Akhtarsky District
Yasenskaya Spit
Yasenskaya Spit is a sand spit located on the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov, between the Yasensky Bay and the Beisug Liman. It starts to the North of Morozovsky Khutor and reaches out to the Yasenskaya Crossing. The Yasenskaya Spit is 14 km of unique sand beaches that are notable for their natural cleanness, shallow depths of the sea which is convenient for people with children, so they attract multiple fans of camping.
Indian Lotus Plantation
There are two plantations of Indian lotuses on the territory of the Primorsko-Akhtarsky District. Exotic flowers delight the locals and tourists every year. They came into blossom in 1952 for the first time. A small plantation is situated within a few kilometres to the North from the city, in the Sadki Reserve, and the second large plantation – in the Zamaraikun Liman. Flowers of lotuses are incredibly beautiful, they rise higher than leaves on their thin stems. The season ends at the end of August. Every flower can blossom no more than 4 days. Amazing flowers come into blossom at first light and during the day as if by magic; they change their colour several times – from purple to pale pink shades.
Local History Museum
The building of the museum was built by Malyshev, a merchant of the early 20th century (roughly 1913) to be used for grain storage. There were warehouses and a mill in the yard; gates were used to let freight vehicles in (horse wagons in particular, since a staple for horses to be hitched has remained on the right side). Today the Local History Museum features extensive compositions that tell visitors the story of the Primorsko-Akhtarsky District.
Apsheronsky District
Waterfalls of the Matuzka River
One can get to waterfalls of the Matuzka River from Guamka Khutor. Enjoy the sight of river water falling down from stony cliffs at a great speed. The highest point water falls from is 12 m, other waterfalls are smaller, though they are on a par with their bigger counterpart in terms of beauty and singularity.
Lago-Naki Plateau
The place where people play snowball fights and alpine ski from November till April to conquer mountain paths of pristine places all the summer. Snow covers the Azish Pike and the Lago-Naki Mountain Range since November till May. The Lago-Naki Plateau, or just Lago-Naki, is 650 km2 of mountain masses, ridges and plateaus of Western Caucasus. It’s impossible to describe the magnificence of the Fisht Mountain peak (2,853.9 m) located on the territory of the Caucasian State Natural Biosphere Reserve. In fine weather the Fisht-Oshtensky Mountain Group can be seen from Sochi or even from Krasnodar. It’s even more difficult to describe the air in the mountains, so clean and clear.
Guam Gorge
The gorge with a length of 5 km. Tourists are delivered by an excursion locomotive. There are numerous interesting routes to grottos, waterfalls, caves and viewpoints.
Tender (Nezhnaya) Cave
The Tender Cave is located at the bottom of the western plateau-like slope of the Azish-Tau Ridge. The length of the cave is 95 m. The cave consists of two parts connected with a low tunnel. There are multiple stalactites and stalagmites, and many columns here. The cave was named so because of its young age – only 2–3 mln years in comparison with other caves. Great Azish Cave
The Great Azish Cave is the most popular and massively visited horizontal underground complexes, as well as one of the most beautiful ones. The total length of the cave is 690 m, and its depth is 37 m.

Valley of the Urup River
According to the geologist, the valley of the Urup River is a honey pot with reserves of limestone, gypsum, shell gravel, sandstone; where oil, natural gas, rock salt, outflows of mineral and sulfurous waters, as well as therapeutic muds have been found. Exotic horse riding tours can be arranged to visit the medieval Ilyichevskoye settlement, as well as 2–3 day-long cycling and motor trips with visits to interesting natural sites: the First Window and the Second Window Rocks, the Baranakh Mountain, the Urup Canyon with multiple caves and a crag of Laptiev Shpil, picturesque karst lakes, such as the Rogozhinskoye Lake and the Black Lake. These sites can be of interest for fans of technical sports as well, since the intersected country provides an opportunity for holding exciting and spectacular auto- and motor cross competitions, hang-gliding and model aircraft construction, etc.
Mostovsky District
Bolshoi Tkhach Mountain
That’s where the Peredovoy (Fore) Range starts. It’s located on the border of the Mostovsky District of the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygeya. The height is 2,368 m. It’s a typical cuesta with a mild grassy northern slope and rocky walls in the South and in the West. From the South the Bolshoi Tkhach Mountain resembles a medieval Gothic castle. Residents of the Dakhovskaya stanitsa (Sakhray settlement) call it the Bald Mountain. ‘Tkhach’ means ‘god’ in Adygei.

Round Lake
The Round Lake in the area of the Gornoye village of the Akhmetovskoye settlement is located 6 km to the South-East to the Akhmetovskaya stanitsa, on the Black Sea Range, at the height of 790 m, at the bottom of a deep karst funnel. The sizes of the lake are 240 х 123 m, and its depth is up to 18 m. It’s fed with underground and headwaters. Water is transparent, and the bottom can be seen at the depth of up to 6 m. There are two very beautiful caves and arcs next to the lake, and on the opposite slope from the Gorny settlement there is a spring with clear mild mineral water.
Krymsky District
Shugo Mud Volcano
The Shugo Mud Volcano is known to be the biggest mud volcano in Russia and the most impressive and unusual one in its district. It’s no coincidence that it’s included in all the guides of Taman, Kuban and the Northern Caucasus as a unique natural landmark.
