The Russian Convention Bureau presented the event potential of the country, its regions, and industry participants at the Meet Global MICE Congress, holding numerous productive meetings with international and Russian forum participants.

The Meet Global MICE Congress, an international business tourism forum, was held on December 17-18 in Moscow at the World Trade Center Congress Center. In 2025, the congress brought together over 2,500 industry representatives, relevant agencies, associations, corporate customers, and business event organizers. Participants from Russian regions and 36 foreign countries attended the congress in Moscow, doubling the event's geographic reach. The main theme of the congress was "Unity through Open Diversity: New Opportunities for Global Growth."

The Russian Convention Bureau's stand hosted meetings with international participants, and the RCB, as an association uniting more than 100 leading domestic companies in the event industry, presented opportunities for organizing events.

RCB Director Sagid Zaremukov moderated the session " The Ecosystem of Success: Crafting a Winning Bid for Association Events," where a panel of experts comprehensively discussed the factors that contribute to the success of destinations in attracting and hosting international events, and discussed the positions and strategies of BRICS countries in this regard. In the current geopolitical situation, experts identified promising tools such as building strong local academic and business communities, promoting leaders and ambassadors of scientific fields, showcasing achievements in various fields of science and industry, and creating industry associations within BRICS countries for collaboration aimed at advancing science, medicine, and technology. One example is the initiative to create the BRICS Association of Wine and Gastronomic Tourism, announced by Elena Yazeva, business events producer and head of special tourism projects at Abrau-Durso. It was also noted that in Russia there is currently a trend toward holding rotating association events within the country, and that it is important to involve and share experiences with specialists from historical regions, which contributes to the economic revival of reunited territories.

During the discussion, experts addressed the issue of infrastructure development, as the availability of congress venues is a key criterion when selecting an event destination. The session also raised and supported an initiative for cooperation between convention bureaus and relevant bodies of BRICS countries to pool efforts in managing association events.

Sagid Zaremukov, Director of the Russian Convention Bureau, noted that the Meet Global MICE Congress once again served as an effective platform for discussing current issues related to the business tourism industry and establishing connections with specialists from BRICS countries and the Global South. "As an industry development institute for the convention and exhibition industry and business tourism, we fully support the forum, which serves as a unifying force, allowing representatives of the event and business tourism industries from different countries to establish connections and develop new, effective formats for collaboration. Moscow is a global capital that has recently become an increasingly respected center for business tourism. On behalf of the Russian Convention Bureau, I would like to commend the Moscow Tourism Committee for its proactive position in promoting the city's event potential and attracting business events, as well as implementing activities that contribute to the development of the industry."
