The government approved the action plan for the development of tourism in Russia until 2035

Creation of a modern infrastructure, promotion of a high-quality tourism product and increasing the availability of travel for all residents of Russia - these and other tasks will have to be solved as part of the action plan for the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Tourism in Russia until 2035. The order on its approval was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The plan includes more than 65 events and contains a whole range of measures of state support for the industry. Among them are the financing of regions for the development of tourism clusters, preferential lending for investment projects to create tourism infrastructure, the allocation of grants to businesses for the construction and reconstruction of hotels, and support for the development of rural and ecological tourism.

The plan also provides for financing initiatives to create modular hotels and campsites, subsidizing projects for the production of tourist equipment and increasing state support for the leasing of such equipment, expanding the financing mechanism for folk art crafts enterprises.

For the development of cultural and educational tourism, it is planned to repair cultural institutions, open new exhibitions, and create an attractive tourist environment in the centers of historical cities. In addition, multimedia guides should appear in museums, with the help of which it will be possible to get acquainted with the exhibits using augmented reality technology.

Much attention is paid to the digital development of the industry. In particular, it is planned to launch a unified system for booking tours and create new services on the National Tourist Portal. The development of the tourism and hospitality industry was discussed in detail on August 12 at a meeting in Gorno-Altaisk, which was held by Mikhail Mishustin as part of a working trip to the Siberian Federal District. The head of the Cabinet stressed that the Government pays the most serious attention to tourism, especially today, given the geopolitical situation.

“Its development contributes to the growth of regional economies, helps create new jobs, transform cities, towns and rural areas. Affordable travel is one of the opportunities for people to get to know their country, through their own, personal impressions, to get acquainted with its rich history, traditions, diversity,” the Prime Minister noted.
