The Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Russian Convention Bureau signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of industrial, business and event tourism. The signing of the program document took place on July 19 at the site of the Strong Ideas for the New Time Forum, which is taking place these days at the World Trade Center. The Forum is organized by ASI and the Roscongress Foundation.

The subject of the Agreement is the interaction between the Russian Convention Bureau and the Agency in order to implement joint projects in the field of industrial tourism development as a tool to increase competitiveness and promote industrial brands, establish industry links between specialists of Russian enterprises on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as develop the potential of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation as business and event tourism centers.

The agreement was signed by Alexander Smekalin, Director of the Regional Development and Investments Division of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, and Sagid Zaremukov, Director of the Russian Congress Bureau.

“Obviously, now is the time to form new approaches to building relationships and cooperation chains. Today, the Agency invites the regions to introduce the best practices of industrial tourism as one of the effective tools focused on business partnerships, familiarization with industries, the formation of sustainable industry relations and career guidance for young people. In 2021, the Accelerator for the Development of Industrial Tourism, organized by ASI, once again showed the effectiveness of business events that bring together professionals to share best practices and create reliable partnerships,” said Alexander Smekalin, Director of the Regional Development and Investments Division of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

“Russian regions have different industry specializations and key industries serve as a benchmark for business events in specific industries. The leading industries represented in the region can become a flagship for concentrating efforts to attract business events, and excursions for event participants to enterprises in their field of activity are one of the points of the delegation’s visit program and the basis for developing cooperation in the field of industry and scientific developments,” — Director of the Russian Convention Bureau Sagid Zaremukov commented on the subject of cooperation.
