25 July 2022
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree approving a “road map” for the development of exhibition and fair activities until 2025. Its main goal is to restore the development potential of the industry after the lifting of coronavirus restrictions.
Representatives of the Russian Convention Bureau took an active part in the development of the document.
The “road map” contains 15 activities to be implemented from 2022 to 2025. Thus, before the end of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other departments should prepare proposals for additional measures of financial support for industry companies.
In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Digital Development and other state and public structures will have to assess the feasibility of introducing permanent participant cards (Expo ID) for companies and organizations coming to Russian fairs and congresses from other countries during August 2022. Such a decision should simplify customs and visa procedures for them.
Until the end of 2022, an assessment of the current legislation in the field of congress, exhibition and fair activities will be carried out. Thus, the issue of the need to develop a separate federal law for this area of activity will be resolved.
It is expected that by the end of October this year, the Government will approve the Development Strategy for the exhibition and fair industry until 2030.
Director of the Russian Convention Bureau Sagid Zaremukov commented: “A lot of joint work has been done with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Roscongress Foundation, the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, The Union of Exhibition Contractors and other industry associations. I am sure that together we will achieve more and develop our industry!”
The President of the Russian Federation instructed to prepare proposals for the implementation of additional support measures for exhibition, fair and congress activities in Russia.
